• S mode can be disabled. But it's claimed to be less secure, but if you know what you are doing and using it for. Go for it

• Because this computer is running Windows in "S Mode" it can only download and run apps that are in the Windows Store. StaffPad is one of the available apps, so you should have no problem downloading it from the store and using it on this tablet.
