“Is 131A toner compatible with HP LaserJet Pro m252dw? 131A toner was recommended in accessories and then I now see a new number 201A recommended...help? Will they both work? or did they steer me wrong? I spent a lot on this toner and want it to be the right one when the others run out.”

The HP LaserJet Pro M252dw supports only the HP 201A or 201X Toner cartridges.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably not. ON HP's website, 201a is the only cartridge recommended for the m252dw when looking at both the printer and toner specs. Neither suggested 131a as an alternative, nor did 131a specs list the 242dw as compatible. It appears that you m252dw is a replacement for my m251nw and they have dropped the Laserjet 200 as part of the name which appeared redundant. Technically, mine listed as "Laserjet Pro 200 Color m251nw" which was a mouthful but technically, the had two models "nw" for network capable, and plain 251 for direct connect only. Suspect in the model design, the toner seats or dispenses differently, requiring the new cartridge.
