• That is a major downfall to a chromebook, I believe that you can access files from a CD or DVD...but you can not play music or a movie A Windows laptop is your answer rthere

• I use a passport external drive and it works fine. You can also use flash drives with it.

• Correct; at this time Chromebooks still do not have full functionality with external disk drives.
