Yes, you can upgrade the ram. It takes DDR4-RAM-2400MHz, PC4-19200 1.2V 260 Pin SO-DIMM RAM. There is 2 ram slots available, so I put an 8GB in one slot and a 4GB in the other slot and it works great. Windows shows 12 gb's of ram available. You will have to remove the entire bottom of the laptop to get to the ram slots. Simply unscrew the 2 screws on the bottom and then carefully remove the rubber strips on the bottom to expose more screws that need to be unscrewed and then use a slim credit card to shimmy the bottom off through the crevices on the sides, all around the laptop. It will take some gentle work to get it off but once it is off you will be able to see the ram slots. Unfortunately, there is no area to upgrade your ssd or hard drive at all. After you insert your ram, you can put the bottom back on until it snaps back in to place and put all the screws back in and also, don't forget to put the rubber strip back on. You are now upgraded :) This is for the HP AMD-A9, 4gb ram, 128ssd laptop.
