• The first thing I would try is to reboot. Also check the brightness setting after rebooting.

• Had the same problem. I took the 8GB card out and it powered up just fine. So i took it apart again and Put the 8GB card into the factory slot and put the 4GB card into the expansion pack. Voila. Working screen!
