Thank you for the question. Yes, you can access Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and One Drive using a Chromebook. You can view files and do basic editing in Office.com if you're signed in with your Microsoft Account (it's free and you can use an existing email). If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, you can sign in with the account associated with your subscription to use more advanced editing features with Microsoft 365.

You can access Office.com, but the functionality is much lower than having the full software. I actually had to get a windows machine to be able to see comments in Microsoft Word, etc.

Yes your able to download Office 365, and should definitely be able to access/update your files. It's easy to sync to another device and share.
