Thank you for your question about this HP laptop! One of the major differences is the USB-C ports all have signaling rates of 5Gbps and only handle date: No power delivery or DisplayPort. The Pavilion laptops have USB-C ports that have a 10Gbps signaling rate with power delivery and DisplayPort and you can hook up a monitor to it via a USB-C dock.
