Yes, it will make a good school computer. It is light weight and easy to set up. So you will not have to worry about breaking your back carrying it around.

It only had 4 gigs and not 6 gigs of ram but did the job just fine for 3.5 years then the fan died. Rather then replace the fan we just got a cheap replacement for her to finish college. For the price it's pretty good but she did complain about the fan being loud on hers.
