You should be able to use a flash drive or even send files via email or cloud to another device. This laptop can and does support Open Office (I installed it first thing when I got it) and shouldn't have any issue running documents for the programs. Microsoft Office programs are preinstalled but have a trial period for use and require purchase of a license agreement for them after.
