• It says when setting up that once you switch out of S mode, you cannot go back. So yes, it would be permanent. It is worded to make you think your computer will not function correctly. I wish I would have taken a screen shot of it. We are taking our new laptop back tomorrow because Microsoft S mode is scetchy and I do not want to deal with that.
