Yes, Windows (S mode) is for more security. If you make the switch there is no turning back to (S mode).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It says when setting up that once you switch out of S mode, you cannot go back. So yes, it would be permanent. It is worded to make you think your computer will not function correctly. I wish I would have taken a screen shot of it. We are taking our new laptop back tomorrow because Microsoft S mode is scetchy and I do not want to deal with that.
