Thank you for the question. To increase security and performance, Windows 11 in S mode only runs apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, you'll need to permanently switch out of S mode to Windows 11 Home (free, simple, not reversible) or Windows 11 Pro this is a premium version and has a cost). The Pro version of Windows 11 comes with all the features of Windows 11 Home and security additions like Windows Information Protection, BitLocker device encryption, and Windows Update for Business. Visit Microsoft.com for Windows 11 Pro pricing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Everyone MISTAKENLY tells you that you cannot return to S Mode after exiting it. This is COMPLETELY UNTRUE, but comes with a caveat. You can exit S Mode by resetting the device to its original condition (as you might if it became highly unstable, or you were selling it, and didn't want your private information walking out the door with the sale). This reset WIPES OUT everything done on the computer since you first logged on.
