• It has a run time of up to 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, it has a 40 minute cool down time.

• I didn't notice a cool down time. I filled the shredder, emptied the shred and started shredding again.

• In reviewing the manual that came with my shredder it states #1that the overheat light 2will light up and than unplug the appliance and wait 40 minutes for the thermal overload protection to reset itself I've had not had a issue with mine overheating as of yet
