I'm not HP but I've had two of these and it happened both times. The first was under warranty so they sent a replacement which was an upgrade of some specs but within a year started doing the same as the first before the case broke. The hinge inside is very tight in order to support the large screen and it puts pressure on the plastic case of the laptop. HP isn't strengthening the case where the hinge connects nor are they improving the design. Due to this, I won't buy HP anymore.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not hypothetical, it happened. I spent 2 hours on phone trying to get some help from HP. Nothing. Nicht. Nada. Nyet. Couldn't get past the "virtual assistant."
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Interesting how HP answers other questions but cannot seem to have anything to say on this issue. Right along with their customer service, very shallow.

Unfortunately, this Q&A forum does not have information on how hypothetical or potential issues are resolved, as each issue is unique and has its own set of circumstances and solutions.
