Hello, if you are finding the laptop is too loud you can contact HP Support and see if they can troubleshoot the device for as traditionally you should not hear the fan above a very small hum, if that. It is definitely not recommended to turn the fan off or you will be overheating your device. Be sure that you are not sitting your laptop on a soft surface, such as a pillow or bed where the base of the device is not getting air to flow through properly as that will cause the laptop fan to run more and cause the device to overheat. Thank you for being an HP customer!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's very quiet for a laptop - no noise. About turning the fan off - at you serious? The electronics get HOT! How do you suggest cooling the computer?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was unsure what is was and took it back to Best Buy and talked with a qeek squad person and he said it was perfectly normal. The young man asked me where I had it when I was using it. He told me I should never use it without it being on a hard surface. I asked him why it was called a laptop, if you couldn’t use it on your lap? He chuckled and said trust me, always use it on a hard surface.
