Tips. Likely little to no difference in quality. For signal to speakers. Connecting via external port like USB, allows adding full Bluetooth controller & support. So all connection options & controls & full communications available. (I favor this, just to add general full Bluetooth support to the computer.) Connecting to audio/sound port is limited/dedicated to that, since it's really an extension adapter. Connecting to audio/headphones port is dedicated. Simpler. Less options & controls though, & does not act as a full Bluetooth controller, just a wireless extension/connection from the audio port. Essentially using audio card/controller. If something else plays sound, may come out through speakers also. Maybe harder to isolate sounds from computer that you don't want on speaker. You can use the audio/sound controls to manage. Like the mixer. More secure for computer, since little to no potential for security exploit. Connecting via USB (or similar external port) is potentially shared if you have other devices connected. More likely to be impacted when computer or port can't keep up with all connected devices on the controller. More options usually available via USB (HDMI, etc.). This allows you to add an external full Bluetooth controller, for general Bluetooth support (all Bluetooth devices, & controls available, connecting multiple devices (sharing)). There can be loss of quality or interruption of enough things are using Bluetooth controller & using up bandwidth, or computer has hard time keeping up, sharing, multitasking. Basically only occurs when devices use up the capacity/bandwidth/speed. More security vulnerability, normal to network interfaces like Bluetooth.
