It could be a number of things, from relatively minor to catastrophic. Probably the best and fastest way to get the problem resolved is to contact the Geek Squad at your local Best Buy. They'll be able to diagnose the problem and give you a price for fixing it. This would also be a good time to invest in a battery backup with built in surge protections to prevent this from happening again.
