• A:Answer Here is how you can adjust the backlight brightness keyboard on a Chromebook: Locate the alt and the screen brightness adjustment buttons. Press and hold down on the alt key. Tap on either the screen brightness up or down buttons. The brightness buttons have an icon of the sun on them. There will be two of them, one will be a small sun and the other is a bigger sun. Here is a website of the all the shortcuts available on a Chromebook. Q: QuestionI need a little clarification of the warranty on this chromebook. Does the warranty include one year parts and labor or just parts?

• A:Answer I have never had any problem with any of the 3 chromebooks I have owned over the last 7 years, Love these machines as long as you can divorce yourself from Microsoft or Apple. But to answer your question - One year HARDWARE (parts) with 90 days customer support. If you are concerned about the warranty you have 2 options : 1, buy an extended warranty from Best Buy OR 2. buy an extended warranty from HP. (HP is considerably better coverage for way less money.) You can check them both out online. Hope this helps.

• A:Answer I realize everyone has different needs but for my use, I switched to Chromebooks about 8 yrs ago and never looked back. The insane prices of desktops/laptops and have quickly they break down and/or become outdated. No way would I go back. You don't have a drive to play cd/dvd's so what.. on the rare occas I need it, i use a thumb drive. Storage is done on a cloud. Easy access on all your Chromebooks, simply set it up so when you sign in on each CB, it's all there. Most apps you need you can find via Google play store or thru extensions. From comments I've read thru the years it's not good for extreme gamers or some programs you may need for work (but) it appears there's alternatives via Google store for most MS programs. I've had 3 previous Acers I loved, this is my 1st HP. btw, I still use my previous CB's. 3 of 4 still work quite well. I use mine for surfing, photo editing, blogging, gif making, banking, chat, email, paying bills.. watching tv, movies, videos, youtube, listening to podcasts.. pretty much anything else the general public needs a pc for.

• A:Answer Coyle, we have both the previous 2019 model and the new 2020 model. The new model is wonderful and if you can get it when it goes on sale I highly recommend it. Improvements over the previous model: - dark keys (our 2019 is the Champagne model with light/silver keys) - camera on/off control - upward firing speakers - thinner bezels and slightly smaller body - fingerprint scanner - 10th gen Core i3 The 2020 model also comes with updates through 2028 (vs. 2025 for the previous model). This new model is absolutely wonderful -- the only drawback is no plastic shells/cases are available yet.

Q: QuestionI read something about this fast charges but you need a fast charger what comes with this? Can you just use a phone charger USB type C like we use for our Samsung phones if we are out and don't have the charger with us and plus into outlet?

• A:Answer The screen is not as bright as other Chromebooks I’ve used. For example the The Samsung Chromebook Plus has beautiful bright colors. This one, in my opinion, is not even close. I’m still debating on whether I want to take it back but that’s the only issue I have with it but thats kind-of a big one.

Q: QuestionFrom the spec for this chromebook (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06162317), I see that this device contains internal M.2 connector. Is it possible to use it for connecting SSD as 2-nd storage? If not, what's purpose of M.2 in this device?

• A:Answer There is not a 2nd slot to add an additional hard drive. This particular laptop does not have a m.2 slot available. Other models may have that option available. But this one does not have that option. Typically M.2 devices typically are solid state drives. Sometimes, they can also be wireless cards, bluetooth cards and optane memory. It will depend on the length of the card. Q: QuestionDoes this have the capability to be used with a pen stylus for writing/drawing? Such as a product similar to the apple pencil? I would love to take notes with this laptop folded, but wasn’t sure if it only recognizes finger touch.

• A:Answer The touch screen can be used with a capacitive (passive) stylus, but the screen is not pressure-sensitive, so it does not work with an active stylus like the Apple Pencil. Although it folds over to look like a tablet, it doesn't really function like one, since it lacks a pressure-sensitive touch screen. It doesn't have the level of precision or detail you have on an iPad Pro, for example. Taking notes on this HP Chromebook x360 would be more like taking notes with a paintbrush than with a pen.

• A:Answer This chromebook will work with a passive stylus, but not an active stylus. There are chromebooks that work with an active stylus, but this is not one of them. It's great in many ways, but it is missing this feature.

• A:Answer I haven't seen a specific EOL published yet for this chromebook, but you can expect at least 5 years from now (2/2019), though closer to 6.5 years from now is possible, too. Check here regularly for updated info: https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6220366?hl=en You can find your "moniker" in your Settings > About Chrome OS > Detailed build information (which you should be able to see on a store display unit as well)
