A:AnswerThis monitor has a VGA and DVI port. Sometimes USB to VGA adapters can have difficulties working as it is essentially a USB GPU. You would need a USB 3.0 port. If you are connecting to a computer I would try to use the DVI port on the monitor since it is a digital port.

A:AnswerI am not sure why you would get any conflicting information. It will connect, you just will not get any sound unless you have a way to separate the sound coming from the HDMI.
