• I use this with my iMac, and my friend uses it with his MacBook pro. As long as you have the proper adaptor for your model (mini displayport or USB C) then you will be just fine.

• Most of the MacBook Pro before the most recent had a form of digital video out, so yes. You may need an adapter depending which Pro you have.
