The amount of RAM only affects the speed if there isn't enough to run whatever you're using, in which case the computer has to swap data to a file on the hard drive. If the computer has enough RAM for the application, adding more would give you a very small performance improvement. You may need to upgrade the processor from a Ryzen 5 to a Ryzen 7. If memory actually is the issue, you can remove the 4 gigabyte module and replace it with an 8 gigabyte DDR4-2400 module to take you up to the maximum of 16 gigabytes.
