That depends strictly on your computer, the monitors themselves have nothing to do whether you use as a single, dual or triple monitors. But, you can always buy a USB vga adapter for your computer/laptop as a cheap and easy way to add a second monitor to any computer.

Usually the laptop has an external port you can use for the 2nd monitor. Set it up primary and secondary monitors . You can have dual monitors provided your desktop has dual video ports. Most likely you'll need 2 different video cables depending on what video card or cards you have. Usually the motherboard has an interface and a separate video card will allow you to use the 2nd monitor.
