Depends on the laptop. My preference for my device is a USB-C to HDMI adapter. You can also use the same type of adapter with USB-A instead of C. An older laptop may have an HDMI port or VGA port. You can use these as well.

Your laptop should have an HDMI output. It may be required that you need an adapter as some laptops have only the mini HDMI port. If your laptop is older and has a VGA output than you will need to purchase a VGA cable.

Hello. This monitor has two HDMI connection ports on the back. All newer laptops have an HDMI connection port built in. An HDMI cable, which this monitor comes with, would be the best choice to connect this HP 27" monitor to a modern laptop.

Depends on the laptop. If the laptop has a VGA or HDMI port, you can directly connect. For other laptops, you need to get an adapter. For my MacBook Pro, I have a USB C to HDMI adapter and it works great.
