This monitor has two HDMI ports. If the desktop tower has an HDMI port you should be able to use this monitor. If you have VGA or DVI ports on the tower then you will need an adapter that fits onto the HDMI connection. So if you have DVI connector on the tower you will need an HDMI to DVI adapter.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The display comes with an HDMI to HDMI cable. If you have a video card that has an HDMI connection on it, then you shouldn't need anything else. Alternatively, you can connect it with a VGA to VGA cable (both ends male) and you may have one of those from a previous monitor, otherwise you'll need to obtain a cable and/or adapters if you don't have a VGA connector on your video card. I was surprised by the lack of DVI, but I guess HDMI is replacing it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.mine came with both VGA and HDMI cables. I was surprised since the monitor I bought just a few months before only came with VGA. My laptop only has HDMI, but most desktops seem to have both VGA and HDMI if they are new(ish).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i do not believe it does but it has ports for 2 HDMI and 1 VGA cable (standard monitor cable). Either way it's helpful to have some extra cables, I have two HDMI's hooked up to it myself and it's AWESOME. If you use a MAC it recognizes the thunderbolt to VGA and Thunderbolt to HDMI adapters & cables.
