“Why are they packaged together My 1056 printer will take the 56 ink, but the 57 does not work in the printer. Why are 56 -57 and 21-22 packaged together when they are not both compatible 22 and 56, and maybe 58 work for the same machine. I have lost money on this pack!”

56 and 57 are not always packaged together. You can get a single, double or even triple 56 pack if you search around. I generally use two 56s (black) for each 57 (color) cartridge, so I don't always buy them together. You have to read your manual or the printer box to see what ink your printer takes. Best, Airie

That is why they are sold as a combo pack. The HP 22 Tricolor and HP 27 Black or HP 56 Black for your printer.
