The cartridge box will give directions

If you open the top of your printer it fairly self explanatory where they go. Just remove the packaging and insert them in the proper slots. Make sure the click into place.

Access the ink by lifting the top part and they easily snap in place of the "color-coded" spot for each cartridge.

open lid, release lock tab and lift. remove packing tape, snap in ink, close cover

You can likely see how to do anything with your printer at hp.com and there is an eprint help site. I find opening the cartridges for 564 is a struggle, but clicking one into our printer is not difficult.

open the top of your printer, lift the bed that your paper rests on to print you will see the cartridges, the printer will indicate which cartridges need to be changed, each lifts out, remember to remove the cover on each of the cartridges you are replacing

Lift the flatbed up. Press down on the color needing to be changed and the old cartridge can be pulled out. Break the orange cap off the new cartridge and insert and press down. Close the flatbed and you're ready for business. If you have the photosmart, there is a tutorial on the actual printer. Just press the ink button.

Follow the instructions on the printer.
