No this ink is not compatible with your C3140 printer. You will need to use the HP92 for black and HP93 for color.

The c3140 printer number is NOT listed on the box end as being compatible with this cartridge. I would suggest contacting HP direct and asking about the problem you are having finding the ink for your C3140.

Just checked the side of the box and the Photosmart C3140 is not in the list; therefore, I would say No.
