The Photo Black ink cartridge is used by a printer that has both ink cartridges even when you are not printing photos...so it runs out of ink regularly even if you don't print photos and only print text. You must replace the photo black ink in order for your printer to print text properly. Just one more ink cartridge to purchase. If you mainly print text only, you may want to reconsider and not buy a printer having both the photo black AND regular black ink cartridges.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The black cartridges are for text and the photo black is more grey and is used for black and white photos, they are not interchangeable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The difference between the photo black ink and the egular black ink is the photo black ink is the bigger cartridge slot and the regular is used for the text. I usually get both because if you run out of the regular small black ink cartridge for printing text you can still print out black ink using the photo black ink. I discovered that when I ran out of the basic black ink. Also the photo ink is darker for photos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Very simple. If your HP Photosmart printer has 5 slots the place the ink in to, you can use the narrow (BLK photo); If you have only 4 slots, no...you can not use the photo BLK.
