Before you remove your 564 cartridge from one printer and insert into another printer, you should open up specs on your printer to see whether you have enabled cartridge protection. If so, that cartridge will not be allowed to work in another printer. If you disable cartridge protection, all future new cartridges may be removed and installed into a compatible printer. A reminder that Black 564 and Black 564XL are a wider cartridge (with a pentagon symbol) used mainly for document printing and will fit only in it's designated slot . Photo Black 564 & 564XL are narrower cartridges (with a bowtie symbol) normally used to print photos on Photo printers which may require the use of 5 cartridges.
