Ckeck the old cartridge to be sure of the number There will be black and a multi color. You do not have to replace them at the same time. Depending on your printing needs, one generally runs out before the other. Your screen or the program will indicate printer cartridge levels.

Install the cartridges when your printer signals that it needs cartridge replacement.
