“Why doesn't new 920xl catridges work in my HP Officejet 6500? Old or refilled cartriges work fine but new one don't. The electric contacts at the base of the cartridge are different from my original cartridges.”

Your printer should have no issues. I recommend reaching out to HP support for troubleshooting.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem once and the only thing I could think of was a defective cartridge. I was able to return it for a refund and got the 920 instead of the 920 xl and it worked find.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had to shake my ink cartridge up then placed it back into the printer and ran diagnostics to fix the problems and then aligned the printer. I have had problems in the past with the two of the smaller black ink cartridges as you explained and have not been able to ever get the smaller size to work in my printer.
