“HP-4155e. Can printing be performed without an active internet connection? I know I can print without the direct WI-FI (between computer and printer), by using a USB cable. But, that doesn't work if offline. Need to print (and scan) while offline.”

• Thanks for your question. Yes, you can print with a smartphone or tablet using Wi-Fi Direct - from the mobile device to the printer, without an internet connection. You can use the HP Smart app for scanning.
