Thank you for your question! I recommend getting in touch with HP Support, who can look up your model and serial number to see if there is a compatible internal DVD drive available. You can reach them at https://support.hp.com/us-en/ and you can speak to your local Geek Squad about installation services!

Please try again later.It does look like a drive bay - and I know other tower in this series offer DVD/CD RW drives - so I'd contact HP to find out if you can purchase one. The LG external DVD/CD RW drive I got is maybe a couple of inches high and sits right on top of my computer, along with an external hard drive. It really doesn't take up much space and doesn't require me to open my computer and futz with the innards, which has always made me nervous...

We went back to inquire and were told it can be installed. However, she decided to use her external drive so did not have it done.

When I questioned it, I was pretty much told those are obsolete and should be using Spotify. External drive was mentioned, too. Hope i don’t regret this purchase. I seldom used it, so maybe it won’t affect it. Otherwise, it is great so far!!
