A:Answer I don't have an answer but best buy support is bad. they told me to get an optical full drive when it was obvious the connecting bay is for a laptop optical drive. The youtube videos for this unit (same frame, different model because it HAS optical drive) show a bracket that locks in, which did not come with this version, but this version has a cutout on the bezel and a metal frame cutout (that's precut and removable)... maybe they use this unit as a base line. so for sure, a few things are needed:
- optical drive that supports the size. I found an old optical drive for a hp laptop, and the bezel does NOT fit, nor does it look like it would fit within the frame. it's a smaller bay...
- bracket that locks the drive in place. i can't find a part # for this at all.
- cabling. you'll need to find a Laptop ODD to SATA adapter and power adapter - not too hard to find.
