Can the 256 SSD be upgraded to a 512? null

It has expansion bays for additional drives, but the power supply will not really support this. It has an additional M.2 SSD connection inside which you may insert another drive. But easiest thing I did was buy a 256GB SD card and plug it in the slot on the front, giving me 516GB! And I use cloud storage (OneDrive from Office 365) which give me an additional 1TB.

You don't want hp. It is a rip-off. Check out the power supply.
