- A:Answer Hi, Thank you for the question. I apologize but the HP M01-F1024 desktop is not capable of running games because it does not have a dedicated graphics card.

Q: Questioncan u game on it
Asked by ty.
- A:Answer No one can answer this because 1) different types of games have different requirements. and 2) you can probably play most things at either lower resolution or lower graphics settings. Are you playing tic tac toe? One of the new shooters? If you want Microsoft Flight Simulator, you'll need to spend a lot more on a graphics card. But a card that costs more than the rest of the system doesn't make sense for this rig; anything that uses more power than a low profile card will require a power supply upgrade as well. Also, the B550A chipset probably won't age well--the io is the same as the B450 chipset. Personally, I will wait for a discreet card until there is one actually available, and upgrade the power supply and graphics card then--probably next summer. An rtx 3060 or rx 6700, or something of that sort. In the meantime, the system will probably be fine for older or less demanding titles. Later, a mid-range card using @ 150 to 200 watts can be covered by the 400W ps HP doesn't put into this system ( but it does put it in the systems it ships graphics cards with).

Q: QuestionCan an aftermarket DVD(optical) drive be installed or only a HP unit? Is the necessary snap in bracket for it already in the case?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer any drive should fit; but HP Support Assistant won't provide driver updates, you'd have to depend on the maker.

Q: QuestionI would like to add an additional 8 gb of RAM. Is it possible to buy the same 8 gb stick that comes with the computer so that I don't have to buy 2 additional 8 gb sticks that match each other and waste the one in the machine? If so, what stick do I buy?
Asked by Vtach.
- A:Answer Matched pairs, one after the other, from the mfg, are dual channel. This is 3200Mhz ram, and you're not going to find the game needs faster. I mean, it's a locked chip. This is not a pc that is 5ghz. It might do VR, depending on 32gb ram, and high ram pcie x16 3.0 card. Up the power supply by totaling up the watts of components, and give extra headroom for the chips to turbo boost. * Get the dual channel and buy matched pairs. If you find the pc with one 16 stick, still get the kit for 32 gb, as matching 16's. (CL 22)

Q: QuestionCan the CPU be moved to a 550 motherboard? Is there a photo of the motherboard? Could a atx power supply be modded to the case?
Asked by JRismyname.
- A:Answer B550 motherboards' bios will support chips listed on their support pages; this APU might (or might NOT) be supported. The logic board image is on HP's support pages, start here https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-desktop-pc-m01-f1000a/37921112/model/2100000352. Modding power supplies is questionable----they do ship a 400W Gold ps with some of the Envy and Pavillion systems that ship with Nvidia cards. Those cases look like variants of this case. That would allow for 220W extra power for a graphics card, you should ask Best Buy techs to look into stocking the part or ordering it for you.

Q: QuestionWhat is the optical drive model that I need to buy?
Asked by Gorus.
- A:Answer The easiest would be an external USB optical drive. You can also take an old laptop optical drive and put it in (I put a Dell Latitude E6500 DVD RW in there) but there might be some minor edge clearance issue or the front looks ugly.
