Something to consider when looking at refurbished models is the age of the processor. For example, this laptop you are looking at has the 5th Gen Intel Core i5-5300U mobile processor. To give you an idea of where we are today, we are on the 8th generation going onto the 9th generation. At the time, it was a great processor. But if you compare the speeds of the processor vs. the current generation, you will notice that the processors have gotten faster, battery life has gotten better and you can do more with the current processors than you would 5 years ago. Also, look at the ports that are available. Laptops today typically have HDMI ports. This laptop has a VGA and DisplayPort. Also, consider the hard drive. Solid state drives offer better performance over the traditional hard drives. There are no moving parts with solid state drives, so it starts up faster and find your stuff a lot faster than a traditional hard drive. One more thing to look at is the wireless card. This one has capability up to N. We are currently on the AC routers. They are faster and they can handle more devices than the N technology. Also consider the operating system that is on the computer. This one has Windows 10 pro. Lastly, the warranty is listed under the specifications. In this case, it comes with a 1-year limited warranty. It does not cover accidents.

An Intel i5 model is a mid-range CPU and any GHz around 3.0 is good for non-gaming use. 12-Month Warranty is offered usually by the re-marketeer & is fully documented with the unit. I have purchased 3x HP units within the last month & the 16GB Memory, i5 CPU & 256GB SSD is worth the $379 purchase price from Best Buy. (9/10/2019)
