Thank you for your questions! This does have an IPS display. The battery should only be removed for repairs and is not considered "replaceable" for switching out during the day. It is a 6-cell, 83 Wh, Lithium-ion polymer battery with up to 8.5 hours of life from a full charge when used optimal laptop settings. It is also capable of Fast Charging, which recharges your battery up to 50% within 45 minutes when the computer is shut down.
