• Generally, the power cable of laptops can handle 110-220v, 50hz-60hz. You would just need a adaptor needed in a particular country.

• Because the power supply for the laptop can't handle 220 volts, it won't be able to do it directly. However, you can plug it into a "step down" transformer that will reduce the voltage to the 110 volts the computer needs. Depending on the connector on the transformer and what countries you're visiting, you may need one or more adapters to fit that country's electrical outlets.
