I use both Photoshop and Picasa for photo editing. I do not use Lightroom. I am extremely pleased with the responsiveness/speed in editing my photos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A single Adobe program like Lightroom requires a processor like the Intel i7 with at least 8 gigabytes of RAM. These are very big programs that are very graphic intensive. So the more RAM you can get, the better. As you might know, each program requires so much RAM. So if you are running both programs, you are going to definitely want at least 16 gigabytes of RAM or more. You might even consider looking at a gaming laptop which has a discrete graphics card. That would definitely help with the overall performance. I would recommend looking at something that is more than you need so that it will be good for you for a while.
