• Id give it a solid 9/10, it comes with windows up to date all that microsoft stuff, definitely recommend getting office 365 for your work

• Thank you for the question. This is an excellent choice for college students. Microsoft includes a 30-day free trial with this laptop, and ongoing use would be by subscription. You can also use the free version online. Any other functions or apps your student might need (different courses of study might require different software) are available in the app store or from the developer of said apps.
