Does this printer use dye or pigmented inks? Dye based inks seem to fade quickly, and photos become a mess if a drop of water hits them. That is why I'm looking for pigmented inks.

How do I contact someone at HP with specific questions about their printers/AIOs. I plan to buy a new one soon for photos, text, scan documents, and send FAXes.

Dave, I have no idea what the ink is made of. I use it for general printing and it prints a nice page. I have not tried it with photo paper or anything that requires a high quality picture. It is a very nice general all purpose printer. Much better that previous generations. I would go to HP.com for technical details. If I'm printing pictures and looking for real high quality. This is not the right machine for that purpose.
