Can't speak for android, but I have successfully printed directly from my iPhone and iMac wirelessly.

The printer is AirPrint compatible so you would not have to download any additional app in order to print. As long as the printer and Mac are on the same wireless network, your Mac can detect the printer when you add a printer to your Mac from the System Preferences. For an Android device, depending on the phone, WiFi printing may be built in. If it is not built in, you can download the free HP ePrint app to print from your android device. The app also requires that you are on the same WiFi network. The printer also has its on hotspot that you can use incase your home network is ever down.
