I believe that because it is solid state, and does not have the old style hard drive, there is no motor to get hot.

Lefty, thank you for your question about this HP Envy desktop! This is equipped with a stock cooler and is adequate for keeping the processor cool. If ventilation is a concern, you may want to consider HP's Omen gaming desktop lines, which are sold through Best Buy.
