• Haven't used it for Family Tree Maker, but we do use it for QuickBooks and multiple proprietary software. Computer is amazing as is out of the box and ram can be upgraded even further. You should have no problems with this computer to run your software.

• Absolutely. I'm running FTM 2014 on mine right now. Also Roots Magic......This machines handles them with no problem.....getting the SSD (Solid State Drive) will make it even faster.

• I HAD AN 10 YEAR OLD COMPUTER WITH 1.8MHZ PROCESSOR THAT WAS TOO SLOW FOR SOME OF THE PROGRAMS THAT I USE DAILY. THE NEW HP HAS A 3.4MHZ PROCESSOR AND IS EXTREMELY FAST IS COM PARISON.
