Thank you for the question. The Envy Inspire 7255e is compatible with an iMac. If you choose direct connection instead of Wi-Fi, you'll need a USB-B to USB-A (or USB-B to USB-C) cable to connect to your iMac.

If you are setting it up with an iMac, you will want to make sure it is at least 10.14 to be able to download the HP Smart app from Apple Store to use all of the features. If the iMac does not have built-in wireless and you need to use a cable, you will want to make sure that the end connects to USB B 2.0. A standard printer cable is a USB A to USB B 2.0.
