During testing the average battery life with varied usage was 12 hours. The battery is considered non-replaceable as it uses a Lithium-Ion battery. It is recommended that if the battery fully dies and will no longer charge, that you contact HP Support or Geek Squad if you would like to try and get it repaired or replaced. You can use an external CD writer/reader, you would just need to make sure that it is compatible with Windows 11 Home. Updates can change compatibility and you might want to check from the manufacture's website of the CD read/writer you want to use.
