Yes you can add more memory, up to 32 GB. The laptop has 2 slots, and you should buy the memory in a kit, meaning buy 2 identical memories (SODIMMs). The computer comes with 2 x 4GB Hynix SODIMMs (8 GB total) running at 2400. You will want to buy two DDR4, 2400Mhz or higher, 260-Pin, SODIMMs. You can get either 16 GB (2x8 GB) or 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) You can probably get around thirty to forty bucks back selling the 8 GB that came with it on Ebay. To install, you need to carefully remove the back by removing screws that are under the sticky bumpers. It's fairly simple but you do need a T5 screwdriver and a cell phone / tablet prying tool to open the laptop, which are easily attainable. YouTube will help. Hope it helps!
