“I have had issues with the hinges breaking with 2-1 over the years. Latest one is a Dell Inspiron that I had to replace twice. Does the HP have good hinges. I have heard that is the weak point of some 2-1.”

Thank you for the question. HP laptops undergo extensive testing, including the hinges. Opening, closing or rotating (with 360's) the display straight on, with the unit facing the user, will extend the life of the hinges without exposing them to undue stress. Avoid dropping the unit; it could affect the hinges or other components.
