Honestly, I don't think you can split the HDMI and have it operate as two independent monitors. I believe you'll have to get a dock of some sort. If you don't want to get a dock, you can use the thunderbolt port for the second monitor. You'd just have to get a HDMI to thunderbolt adapter. They are pretty easy to get.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello, Bill. We recommend using a USB docking station that has two HDMI ports or 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort. An HDMI splitter will just mirror your laptop onto both monitors instead of allowing you to have different screens.
