I read that before buying as well but I think that's the 2019 model because I can't really find any reviews on the 2020 model but it appears to have been resolved as this thing is whisper quiet
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. How do I know if I have the 2020 version of the laptop? I just opened it today and right during the start up the fan started making noise and hasn't stopped, even with no programs, tasks, or apps opened. I thought people were being picky in the reviews, but this is too distracting to deal with, I'm getting a headache because there's a ring too it. I'd love to keep this and not deal with return and finding a new one, but the noise plus the heat it's emitting for just taking it out of the box is not worth it for the price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can optimize the fan or turn it off. Run HP Command Center app. The Quiet setting turns off the fan and avoids heavy processing loads. Start > HP Command Center > Thermal Profile > ... HP Recommended ....... Optimizes your system performance and temperature ... Performance ....... Ideal for software that requires heavy use of CPU ... Comfort ....... Ideal for situations where the device feels warm to the touch ... Quiet ....... Ideal quiet environment. The fan is off. Ideal for quiet environment
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve had mine since May. I let it run at night while uploading to YouTube and it sits right next to my bed. I’ve never had a problem with it keeping me up. I will say that it gets quite hot while sitting on my lap without the proper ventilation. That’s my only concern.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Umm it is this model 2020, I had no fix for it. Some said a bios update worked, made mine worse
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.VERY. It's an annoying sound, yes. But the fan's what keeps the machine running cool. Or tries very hard to. It still gets very hot. I'd also be concerned about the fan burning out. Thankfully I already had an external fan for it to sit on. I have to keep that running most of the time, but especially when I'm plugged in.
